In the works shown here, the faces of various humans and other living creatures are replaced by empty voids. Takashima has removed their faces, which normally express the most meaning and feeling, leaving nothingness in their place. Each void quietly absorbs the various memories and emotions of the viewer, and in that way begins to take on new form. The resulting space is nothing while simultaneously imbued with various meanings, and within each such ambiguous vacancy, hints of something new begin to take form somewhere between the visible and the invisible.
